The programs and services offered through Augustana Lutheran Homes are supported by generous donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and other agencies. Fundraising allows Augustana to expand and enhance programs beyond regular funding sources. Fundraising allows us to try new programs and new methods of serving people. Tax Deductible Gifts Augustana Lutheran Homes and its related organizations of Litchfield, MN are members of the Ecumen, a Family of ELCA agencies located throughout the State of Minnesota. Augustana receives 501 (c ) (3) non-profit, charitable tax-exempt status as a related agency of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Donations are considered tax-deductible for charitable purposes to the extent of the law. We recommend consultation with financial planners, accountants or tax advisors for large gifts. The Foundation for the Elderly, headquartered at the Ecumen corporate office, serves as the official depository and manages, invests and reports all activities in compliance with law for the entire Ecumen Family. Heritage Circle Perhaps the most significant way an individual can ensure their legacy of support continues is through an estate or planned gift. Augustana has initiated a program to encourage and facilitate this type of giving. Dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults and others we serve, this program is named Heritage Circle. Members in the Circle is open to any individual who makes provision for the future of Augustan Lutheran Homes in their estate plans. There is no minimum required and no gift is too small. Heritage Circle has been established to recognize and honor donors who extend their charitable intention for Augustana beyond their lifetime. If you have already included Augustana in your estate planning, please let us know so that we can recognize you as a Heritage Circle.
